From bedsit to exit
To cut a long story short I started up a business from a bedsit and turned it into the world’s biggest gap year company. I then sold it to a FTSE 100 company for an eight-figure sum. And I did it all in just 10 years!
I did it fast. I did it differently. I defied the sceptics. And I made millions while the rest of the travel industry was very tired.
Great ideas and real beliefs
What makes my story even more remarkable is that I had no previous commercial experience. I had no family history of enterprise. And I set the whole thing up without any start-up capital. All I had was a great idea, a real belief in helping young people have amazing experiences, piles of passion and a belief that a travel business could be both ethical and profitable.
